Have them, or better yet you, check and clean the throttle body(where the air filter box hose meets the top of the motor), and the idle motor (cylinder thingy below the throttle body, 2-wire plug and a 1"hose on each side.

well...it has gotten from bad to worse-- the dang thing died on me yesterday with a weeze, reeeeewww reeeewwww and a pop! Sounded like a belt or a flywheel to me-- but heck...what the **** do I know I'm just a freaking woman!!!! When I left it is smelled like it was flooded and it would not even start--just went raaaa raaa raaaaaaa
I give freaking up! I'm in the dang desert, my husband's in Utah, I just started a new job, I'm staying with a freind and I have lost my independance-- ok venting over...any ideas or are all you out of them too? Got a match and some gas?

Hopefully you have the car running Martha generic---i had the same problem,it was the THROTTLE POSITIONER, which is a BLACK LITTLE thing that sits ont the tube on the intake manifold..hard to describe, but when you do---unplug it!!!! and give it a go---it is a reostat that does something but it will run without it plugged in...then go to a wrecking yard and get a couple of them and try---install time is about 5 minutes!!!
