Drives: me 2000 s40 wife 03 XC70



The dash thermometer in my '05 has been reading very erratically recently until now i don't get a reading at all only dashes. anyone know if there is a way to reset it or does it just need to be replaced? If a replacement is need who tough is the job?

Give the external temp sensor a look over. Maybe it popped out and is hanging or damaged.

It's located at different points in the engine compartment for different models, eg. S40 near the radiator on driver's side. The XC may be in the passenger mirror, just a guess. I would ask this in the XC section for a more definitive answer, good luck.

the car is a 2004 c70 that is having the issue.
