Hi, I've inherited a 2003 V70 D5 with 95k. Regularly serviced, etc, but re-mapped several years back.

Problem, when accelerating hard, whistling sound and loss of power. Fails to get above a certain speed. Several minutes later, back to normal, plenty of power/acceleration, same road, incline, etc.

Specialist garage read an error code (can't recall ref) and "took vacuum hoses to front engine mount out of the equation." They said "should provide turbo with required air/whatever" (apologies for the inaccuracies in reporting diagnostics).

Another problem, clock sometimes resets by several hours on start-up. A mate said this might be the re-map gone wrong. Hence acceleration problems.

Are the two connected? Occasionally very rough idling. One slightly faulty injector but this shouldn't be connected.

For the power loss: check all the turbo hoses and intercooler for oil leaks. If you hear hissing it's intercooler most likely. Quite often the power loss is caused by spongy turbo hose just before the turbo. This hose should be stiff.
