My S60 developed a dash rattle on the driver side that appeared to be coming from inside the dash around the side vent. After scratching my head for days, my service advisor at the local dealership showed me that it was actually the clear "pass holder" vibrating against the windshield. If you have a similar annoyance, check this out. The fix is to place a small self-adhesive "bumper" between the windshield and the holder.

Had the same problem, detected it very quickly, solved it even more quickly - just had to push the plastic a bit downwards and it somehow fixed in a position of a few mm away from the windscreen, therefore not touching it and rattling. When I have to use it, I push it upwards again.
