when driving in my volvo s60 auto when the gear flicks from 2 to 3 there is a loos of power for about a second and the revs go up high, like the car is in neutral and the pedal is bieng pressed,
the revs go upto like the 3 mark on the counter
is this gonna become a problem or should i not worry?

Are you still under warranty?
It could be as simple as a software problem or a bad valve body.

not under dealer warranty
only from the local garage where i bought it.

Then they should pay for it and send it to the dealer.
Make sure you take it to them A.S.A.P!!

i did go to volvo today and they say there is no problems.

This is exactly what is happening on my car too. It was recently purchased from a Volvo dealership - a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4.

Tech - Do you think I should take this in to be fixed?

Did you take any more action? (Check out the thread "Transmission Slippage" - sounds like this has happened to more than one other person.)
