Hi all, thank you for taking the time to read this. I purchased a 1990 740 wagon (base) this week. I love it and am thrilled with every mile we drive. However, I've noticed a potential problem. The gas door (door you open to take off the gas cover and pump gas) doesn't lock. We live in a neighborhood where there's a good bit of vehicle vandalism and I'm nervous about not being able to lock the gas tank. Can a new door be purchased for a 1990 that locks? Or a gas cover with a lock on it? I've Googled until my eyeballs are about to fall out and still can't find one for an older car. Thanks again,

Probably easier just to get a locking gas cap. No affiliation, just a search...

Hi. Do u have central locking? I "had" the same problem. I search in my manual and i found that the fuel door is closing 10 minutes after i locked the car.
