I spent hours researching this on the internet and I'm now I'm even more confused. Basically I wanna know what specific shocks and springs would fit. And yes I did read the Nivomat Shock Conversion guide by Jonathon Belmont.

SOME FACTS ABOUT THE CAR:
Car: 1991 Volvo 940 SE -SEDAN
253000 kilometers on car
Running on original Nivomat shocks, which are still ok but not great
Both coil springs are broken -in 2 places no less!
Car suspension is multi-link

As far as I understand, I have 2 options.

1- I could just replace the springs with these:
http://www.autopartsway.ca/autoparts2/inde...41558~241558~30
Part # W0133-1619179
$92 each. Shocks would eventually need to be replaced probably sooner than later, but for now that would solve the problem.

2- Convert from Nivomat to Regular. This is where I have a problem. It does not say anywhere what specific shocks and springs would fit for the conversion. To add confusion, all parts resellers have some sort of exclusion notes about the 1991 940 SE, and about multilink suspension.

With that in mind, I would like to buy from Auto Parts WAY:
http://www.autopartsway.ca/index.cfm
If you have another place to suggest that's fine but.. I'd like to know what specific shocks and springs would do the trick! I am aware that www.ipdusa.com sell a conversion kit but this is not what I'm looking for. It looks like this can be done for much cheaper. I got a good friend to help whose practically a mechanic, however I myself need specific instructions. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Part numbers anyone?

Any info would be strongly appreciated!

I need to do this ASAP in order for the car to pass safety and be on the road. I bought springs from a Volvo parts store for $50, only to realize that dude gave me the wrong springs. Nice waste of time. Now I'm returning sanded/painted springs...

Sebastien
