Had a new A/C compressor installed and had to take it back repeatedly because of A/C failure. Also, the car started running rough like the timing belt was slightly off, especially when running the A/C Fan at higher than 2. The repairman finally admitted he had installed the incorrect compressor. The A/C is fine now, but it seems like the timing is off in the same manner. Does one impact the other?

the ac wont affect the timing belt unless he has been extremely heavy handed when changing things around.

the new compressor will draw a lot of power from the engine (as any ac will) and on idle/standing in traffic, you will notice a little rough idle because of the ac kicking in and out.
