I have a 1989 740 GL. As with all GL models, it comes with the stupid plastic wheel covers to go over the steel rim. The GLE's and 760's have great alloy wheels. Anybody know where I can get a full set of them for cheap online?

Thanks

well, the best bet for original volvo's would be ebay or a breaker yard my friend.

though for aftermarket i have heard and read (in the uk mind) that us 7 series and 9 have the same stud pattern as a ford mondeo! which is cool!

dude check out my other post about what to look for when buying a 740 ... you'll love the info i posted there!

but seriously, i even have that fact in a redline magazine, the stud pattern, alignment, offset etc... is the same as a ford mondeo! which is cool! a totally random fact that not many people know, probably only me here with that, well and you now but hey!

fountain of knowledge! anyone up for a cigar?

imagine going into a parts store and going can i have some wheels for a ford mondeo and then getting them to fit them on a volvo!! HAHAHAHAHA the looks you'd get!

Of course the Mondeo was not sold in the US. I found a few at Dragtimes and some at Your Hot Car although some of them weren't very cheap. Otherwise check Craigslist and local wrecking yards. Good luck in your search.
