95 960 151K. Runs great when wife drives to/from work, but after shutting down for 15-20 min then driving again, it stalls. Throwing codes 113 and 115 about every third time it happens. Previously replaced ECT sensor for similar problem (regardless of temp). ECT is working, wiring harness for injectors has been wrung out and repaired. (I pulled the intake and checked all of the harnesses routing under there the last time for brittle/worn wires). The fan does not stay on after key off. Is this normal for 960? Fan relay self test OK and have power thru hot fusible link. My cheesy Chilton print shows the A/C system related to the fan thru the ECM, but have no diagnostics for ECC system. Out of ideas now, any help appreciated.

By the way, great forum. All the work I did I found out about here!

I had this code for about a year and a half, it was not fun to chase down, and today could not tell you what the true cause was, suspect a bad connector somewhere but not sure.

The condition that throws the code:

If the injector group (there are two, having code 113 and code 115 means both groups) circuit is shorted to ground/live, or if there is a break in the circuit, the ecm notes this as a fault and sets one of the previous codes.

Fault sources:
Signal too high, caused by
Signal lead short circuit to live.
Injector valve defect.

Signal too low, caused by
Power lead broken.
Signal lead short circuit to ground.
Contact resistance in terminals.
Injection valve defect.

Current too low, caused by
Signal lead broken.
Contact resistance in terminals.
Injector valve defect.

Some things to check, should have approx. 16 ohms resistance on the injectors, the injector relay, then you will be chasing down wires, I ended up testing each wire from under the hood to the plug on the ecm. Didn't find anything but may have corrected missing connection while trying to troubleshoot.

Check the big plug, a 55 pin in the central relay unit.

Danr, sorry for the late reply but this problem has plagued me and wanted to insure that my latest attempt actually worked for more than 200 miles.

As you suggested, I might have took care of this issue by all of the un-plugging and re-plugging various stuff, but I did find a couple of areas of concern. Since I tested the wires from the ECM to the injectors with no faults, and this was an intermittent problem only related to temp, I decided to decided to re-wire from the 55 pin connector to the injectors. I had to pull the whole harness out from under the motor mount, and when replacing wires found some that were stiff were they looped under the mount. One of the ground wires felt like it had a solder splice and I actually snapped it into pieces! Even if a wire felt bad, it still showed good on the meter, so I ended up stringing in a couple of other wires not related to the injectors and replacing any and every ground that wire and terminal whether they wanted change or not.

Long story longer, so far about 1200 miles in Georgia heat without a hiccup. This makes my wife feel happy and secure, which makes it worth every cuss word uttered when I was gutting the engine harness!

Thanks for your expertise and suggestions.

I think this problem is common because I am also having the same problem.
