Looking at getting a V50 with the sports suspension... lowered, stiffened etc. But have never seen or driven one...
Anyone had any experience of one and can tell how much it differs in ride, comfort, performance to the standard V50 suspension.
THanks! :D

I was denied the permission to test-drive the V50 Sports Package previously, for some reason.

But what I noticed is the ehem, extra-ordinarily big rims. They're 18-inchers!

Hi,

I have the V50 2.0D SE Sport in silver. I struggled to test drive one before order and even now I have only ever seen a few on the road.

The ride is definitely firmer, but still very smooth. Any passenger always comments about a smooth comfy ride - front and back. One of the key differences is the wheels and tyres as they isn't as much absorption over potholes and certain speed bumps.
Cornering is great on the standard V50, but the sport takes the roll away and in my opinion makes it a better handling car.

Performance from the engine is the same.

The extra body kit on the V50 makes it look very very nice indeed!

Hi!

This may be a late reply, but I figured I would post anyway.

I drove both and bought the sport package. There is a significant difference in drive, significantly tighter ride. I suggest getting it if you can, to avoid disappointment, you won't be sorry.

Cheers...

I've got mine with 2.4 sports package with 225/45-18 tires. If you're dying for the look, go for it. Otherwise the sacrifise you have to make in the comfort department will definetely outweigh performance gain and cost increase.

I have an 06 with the sport package and the body kit and it is worth the extra money. It is one option you won't regret, I know I don't.

I just changed from a 2.0D SE to a 1.8 Sport and don't regret it one bit. The Sports pack looks great. Yes there were more toys with the SE but the Sport just looks like a completely different car.
