Hi, first post here,

Just bought my first C70, having owned a number of 340's through my driving lifetime, and now i find the bonnet won't open. The car was bought from suction, and the seems to be in perfect order, except for the bonnet...

the catch on the drivers side releases just the driver side of the bonnet, and the passenger side doesn't move at all. figured out how the locking mechanism works, just wondering if anyone knows the best way to fix this. Tried squirting WD-40 into the locking mechanism using a straw but thats had no noticable effect.

Cheers

my 440 was like this and I founf that slapping the bonnet while operating the catch freed it up, it probably just needs greasing and cleaning.

Best thing besides opening the bonnet more frequently is to adjust the hood latches. They are held on by 3 10mm bolts each. Easier method though than doing this is to get the rubber stoppers that can be found on the 850/960/etc. models. Place them right beside the hood latches and close. Should open both every time, just go to a wreckers and pick up a set.

That happens once in a while on my c70. Just pull the inside bonnett release again and that should do the trick. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
