I just bought an S40 which is great. I get a strange message intermittently though on my radio which is puzzling. I only seem to get it on one frequency (FM 104.7) and get it regardless of programming that is playing:

"Rockwell - Somebody's Watching You"

Anyone else get this?

In any case, ZooKeeper,

I think since you only got it from one frequency and irregradless of the programme that is playing, i guess it must have come from the radio station where the frequency belongs to.

The radio stations, if I am not mistaken, can broadcast the messages to all the receivers (provided the receivers are of the more modern types and can project the messages on the LCD.) Probably the missed a button, and forgot to unswitch it. :) <-- Serious Version

OR...

You're just SO ! Oh, there's absolutely NO WAY they're going let you go, now, dude...

:haha:
Sorry, man... Just kidding!

Ok I guess I deserved the replies I got on that one! Meanwhile I have written to the radio station to ask as well.
Another question, with "CD Text" on should I not get song titles, etc when playing CD's ( at least newer ones which have this data)?

Yes it should show the song names.Sometimes the C/D aren't programmed properly when they are made and will not show it.

this sounds un Volvo like to me ie it is an inducement to take eyes off the road

the issue comes up with an I Pod, firstly as I put all my CDs to I Pod I rarely find titles so have to put in myself [just shows my CD collection is dated!!!]

but once IN the I Pod there is a temptation to look down to see titles or change the selections, so I have put some stick on velcro in middle of steering wheel so I can temporarily put it there and use it without really taking eyes off the road

Guys, guys, guys...

Nowadays, there are many hands-free, portable, wireless or cableless, remote-controllers with CD Text on them...

So, you won't have to take your eyes off the road.
:)

Hey, if they can come up with a device to deflect your dashboard control meters on the insides of the front windscreen (to save time especially when speeding) and call it a 'Performance Part' and charge it a 'Performance Price', I think they can do the handsfree thing.

:)

If you're a speed-demon or if the streets on your road travelled are unusually straight, you should at least check it out.
:)
