hi i recently managed to snap the timing belt in my volvo 440 si, i have had the engine replaced with an equivelent match (1.8) but now fuel consumption seems to be through the roof...also lack of power..... getting revs then power kicks in after..(almost seems lack of compression but full exhaust system brand new and no leaks) any sugestions?
also today the windscreen washer button shot out of its control stick any help on replacing the control stick would be good |

make sure the vacum pipes are conected at the back of the engine on drivers side, also check that roter and cap are in good condition!!

Change the lambda, the metal from the old engine has killed it! the lambad is almost always to blame for poor fuel economy and rough idle, along with hesitaion and surging. the idle control valve (icv) is usualy only the cause of poor idle.
