Drives: volvo 460 2.0i 1996
my volvo 460 2.0i a light has come on when i start the engine my manual says it is an emmission control symbol ever since my car has been jerking when the car idles its ok is this minor or major problem can anyone help please.

hmm I would hazard a guess at oxygen sensor.

Lambda sensor is dead, replace it. the car will sudenly run a dream then!
