I have a 2005 xc70 with 39k miles,my son has driven it for the last 10k.I think the brakes should be serviced.Should I do pads and rotors? There is not any noise, just being careful. Is there a service chain that won't pick you off?

if yours is still under warranty, do it at the dealer. otherwise, check out cartalk.com and plug in your zip in the find a mech link. good luck

Maybe I missed something...I realize that's alot of miles, but if nothing seems wrong what makes you think the brakes need service. And personally, I'd ask a friend where they like getting their car fixed instead of going to someone new and asking if they see something wrong. Asking like that, I'm sure they will.
