I have purchased two new front struts to put in my '88 240 wagon.

Are there any traps to be aware of, or is it a fairly straight forward job?

It's do-able for someone with decent mechanical skills.
You will need a spring compressor and hand tools.

Here is a link on this forum to the procedure.

Let me know how it works out. I have a 87 240 that needs new front struts so any pointers you can give would be greatly appreciated! Good Luck!

Don't plan to do tackle this job until after a family wedding (mid November) but I'll keep you informed on how I go.

Sorry for not replying sooner Rob_245 but I have been missing for a few weeks showing my American B-I-L a few sights of our beautiful, interesting country.

Thanks for listing the link to the photographs - they are very informative and easy to follow.

Much appreciated.
