I recently changed the odometer gear on my car. Now the odometer is off by 10 mph. so if i am going with 40 it reads 30. Is there a certain position that the gear has to be in when you put it together? Please help. Thanks

I have not personally done the odometer yet, though i could see a certain 'jumping' action on the odometer, it has yet to stop moving. So, i cant say for sure.

But if i understand it right, there is no particular position for the gear to be fitted in. But i could be wrong. I hope someone who has done this before, could come and help on this.

Cheers.

did you change both gears when you did the repair? from what i understand, one always breaks while the other rarely breaks. it might be the second one that is causing the mix-up.
