Hi every one volvo lovers :)

Got a situation here.

Have an 2005 volvo s60 2.0.t BSR. origin UK. having miles on the clocks and fuel consumption in MPG's is a bit pain in **** :)

As I'm in Cyprus we have kilometers instead of miles. Has any one (heard about or) converted the miles per gallon to liters per 100kilometers on the board computer?

Thanks anyway! :right:

Haven't heard of anyone doing it but I should think it could be done.

....would probably be sorted with a software update so I think you would need to visit the dealer?

Ok, let's see...

1mi=1.6km
1gal=3.78l

So let's assume you get 24mi/1gal

Then you would be getting 24*1.6 / 1*3.78 = 38.4km/3.78l

38.4 fits in 100 about 2.6 times, so:

Multiply top and bottom with 2.6 and you get 100km/9.8l

These values have been rounded off at each step, so they are close but not 100% accurate.

It's just as well cydemon isn't in the US - that would really confuse the issue.

In the US you would have to put in 1.2 gallons to equal a UK gallon (4.54 litres)
I guess in Cyprus the capacities are the same as the UK.

So If you're getting 24mpg then that's around 38.6 kpg
So 38.6km / 4.54 litres = 8.5kpl
And 100 / 8.5 = 11.77 litres per 100km

But that doesn't help a lot as to whether the on board computer can be converted so you don't crash whilst trying to use the calculator on your phone :blush:

Oops... I didn't read the whole question before I answered... I guess I was just curious what my fuel consumption in l/km was and this was my excuse to calculate it!

Perhaps in the UK we're a bit reluctant to change but what I can't get my head round is why you would want to know the consumption in l/100km ?

I've looked on a few sites and it would appear that l/100km is the norm.

If it were me I would want to know how far the litre in my tank would take me rather that how many litres I would need to travel 100 km.
(or am I just being too simplistic?)

Oh and if go on google you can just put something like this into the search bar and it will work it out for you.....(24 mpg in l/100km)
