Drives: 1999 Toyota Corolla, 1987 Volvo 740 GLE (non-turbo)
So I checked out a really clean 1988 740 GLE 2.3L 4CYL Non-Turbo today. It has 175000 miles on it and I have a question on this. I'm used to driving toyotas and I did notice when I took it for a nice test ride that I can feel the Transmission shift. It doesn't clunk, but it's not smooth per-say. I'm not sure if this is a "Sporty" feel? I checked the fluid, it's red and doesn't smell burned, and it was up to the proper level. What do you think? Also I noticed the Tach doesn't work. Other than that and a couple cosmetic issues with the interior, it's a nice car. Especially for the price. I did also smell a little oil, but I noticed that it looks like there's some seepage from the oil cap, which if I buy it, I may buy a new cap.
