I have a 1998 V40 T4 1.9CD and i have a big problem. Last week on my way home it started loosing power as if it was been starved of fuel until eventually it would no longer drive. I left it for about an hour then it went ok again for about another 20 miles then did it again. Eventually I got it to my local garage where they put it on the computer which diagnosed a problem with the O2 sensor which was changed. It has driven fine for the last week but then today it started to do the same again. Could it mean another O2 sensor has given up or could it be somthing else.

not sure if this helps ! but have a similar prob with our V40 19D. after new air filter and draining the fuel filter the engine felt like it was running on two cylinders hence power loss on acceleration. I have removed the injectors and found that two are blocked and one does not spray cleanly the cost is approx £160 am still waiting to collect them from service, but when re-installed I will repost and let you know the outcome.
