Hello,

I will soon be undertaking the task of installing an aftermarket amplifier for my volvo 960. However, I do not know how I can run the cables from the battery in the engine compartment, through the firewall, to the main cabin where the amp is located. There does not seem to be any holes or rubber grommets to work wires through, unlike other models.

Also, how are the rear speakers in the trunk hooked up? All the cables are completely hidden, and I do not see the terminals on the speakers anywhere.

Finally, the two lights underneath the bumper in front of the car dont seem to light. Is there a way to turn them on? Also, how do you prelace the bulbs in those specific lights?

Thanks!

I have a 940 and used a rubber plug behind the glove compartment to run a wire.
The other side of the plug is located near the coil.

the grommets are usually located right in the very corners by the firewall in the engine bay. they require the heads cutting off the un-used ones to be able to pull cables through.

I think the speakers in the trunk are actually hooked up on the top side. to get to these you physically have to remove the hardboard and material covering of the parcel shelf to get to them. A lot of cars started to do that to stop wires from hanging down in the trunk. Thats where my wires for my rear speakers were.

In terms of the lights, check for blown fuses. They may also be fog lights and operated by pulling out the main light switch one or two notches.

regards to changing the lamps, i wouldnt know how this is done as i dont have that particular style light on my car.

Matt
