I am feeling it is time for me to upgrade from my 244DL to a 940 Estate. What I am looking for out of this possible upgrade is less fuel consumption, airconditioning and power steering.

Can anyone tell me what fuel consumption they average from a 940 (4) driven around the city and on country runs please. I have seen the survey below but don't understand miles or gallons - litres per 100km would be great. The car will be a 2.3l with an automatic transmission.

Also, anything in particular I should look for when purchasing a 940.

Thanks...david

Better get a (1990-1994) 960 2.9: it runs 10.5l/Km on highways, and has all the features you'll need.

well i think the 2.3l auto does about 20 miles per gallon on highway ... 1.6 km in a mile ... 4.4litres in a gallon

some math and a while later...

32 miles per 4.4 litres .... divide 32 my 4 roughly gives you 8 ... so 8 kms per litre ... hmm i wouldnt take my math exactly there ... doesnt seem right that its less economical than a 2.9 960 :S though given its an auto box.

remeber, more features on it means less km per L.

you probably would be better off getting the 960 in terms of power to weight, fuel consumption to air con usage and all that too.
