I feel as though I'm so close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to get that check engine light OFF!!!!(have to pass inspection)

Still get my 1-3-3 TPS error code. All other codes I had before went away as I ran all the 3 year old gas out of my car. Changed the oxygen sensor, replaced vac lines, checked air tube between AMM and Throttle body. Still need to change that fuel filter.

Here's the question:

I've checked my TPS and it seems to do what it is supposed to(click, click). The thing is, It is SUPER touchy. You barely touch the throttle cable, and it will click. I'm guessing that it is so touchy, that when the engine/tranny move around, that thing is probably clicking like crazy. It looks like I'll have to remove the throttle body to do this.

Any suggestions??

Anybody think that that would be enough to cause super low idle, and sometimes stalling, AND give me the 1-3-3 code?

Thought about changing the coolant temp sensor as well...........

Throttle plate is touchy, and meant to be. set it by first setting the stop screw so that the plate is actually closing the airway-clean first as needed-then adjust switches to suit the plate position. Finally, check the wear in the linkage, replace if worn, and adjust linkage so the it just allows the throttle to close with minimal play. then take most if not all the slack out from the throttle cable adjustment, but the throttle must freely close completely every time. Apply appropriate spot lube as you assemble the system. Adjust idle air bleed screw correctly.

Throttle body was cleaned already. Looks REALLY clean(done by Volvo). What kind of lubrication do you reccomend. Was thinking about this before. It is clean, but very dry. Could the plate be sticking open just a little bit sometimes. Would this cause a 1-3-3?

I have noticed that I can go for a long time without the light coming on if I drive it like an old lady. If I get on it, (floor it), sometimes this will make the check engine light come on.

The throttle position switch is adjusted by loosening the two 3MM screws that secure it to the throttle body. Slots allow it to rotate slightly in either direction so you should be able to reduce its sensitivity.
