Anybody know what needs to be done to tighten the glove box when it's shut? It's really only loose on the left side, and it's really annoying when you shut it and it hangs slightly. It also makes a lot of noise when on bumpy roads...

Your suggestions would be helpful!
Thanks!

Well I got used a couple of those self adhesive rubber pads that are ased as feet for various things like speakers etc.

And just stuck them either end of the top edge of the glovebox - problem solved.

They have to be thick enough to fill the gap though.

Not a bad idea. Thanks for the tip.
I didn't know if there was a more permanent solution...

If it's just the glovebox door rattling then this should do it and it is kinda permanent - the little rubber pads don't look out of place.

Although my dash does have other rattles and squeeks - if only they were all as simple to resolve :P

Your best bet is to try rubber pads. There aren't any adjustments other than ordering a new mount and whole new glovebox (and you usually need both parts to fix this).

Here's a picture (quality not great as it's from my phone)

(IMG:http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc9/VolvoVirgin/Image047.jpg)

Place one either side - the little rubber pad is probably 5-6mm thick and you just have to get it in the right place - I used a piece of bluetack to get the thickness and experiment with positioning before finaly sticking them in place.

If you look where these pads would come into contact with the glovebox door you just need to avoid the recess where there is a screw. Be careful not to use a pad that is too thick or you might have trouble getting the door to close - mine just needs a very gentle 'slam' to close it.

I'll have to try that.

Thanks so much!
