okay. I fixed the over drive thanks for all the advice...it turned out to be dirty wiring at the solenoid. The car runs great and start every time...that is until this morning. drove the thing all day yesterday not a problem get home last night park it in the driveway and go out this morning and it wont start. Turns over strong, has great spark, but i cant hear the fuel pump. I have checked fuses 5 &7 both are good. I dont know where the relay is or what color it is. I found a green relay under the driverside dash and it works but i dont know if that is it. I am 2600miles from home working for 4 months and i depend on this car to get me to work. Any suggestions or ideas on what it could be? I know it has two pumps one in the tank and one under the car. I used to hear them running distinctly when i would first turn the key but now nothing. I have also checked the wiring at the pumps. I just filled it up yesterday as well. The car is an 81 240 dl 2 door 4speed with electronic od.

Yes it is green, I would replace it next.
