I have a '91 740 with the two big ugly headlights. Recently Bambi decided to stop in front of me on a dark road, and in the process of unexpectedly moving her off the road by force I damaged the grill and headlight buckets.

Unfortunately these parts are unique to the '91 and '92 cars, which makes them kinda hard to find, in my area at least. Given that I hate those headlights anyway, I'm wondering if I can swap some other front end stuff. I'm going on the theory that the '91 grill is specific to the '91 only if I'm using the '91 headlights. If I swap the grill and headlight buckets (and turn signals?) off another car, will it bolt on? Are the fender profile and hoodline the same in any of the earlier and later 7-series cars?

Thanks

Hi Bryan,

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but I am in the process of swapping my headlights for a set of E-Codes ('91 745T). It is easy enough to remove the grille and headlight/corner light assemblies. The attachment brackets seem to be unique to the year but it looks like if you have those pieces you should be able to swap out the entire light-grille-light to a 'with fog light' set-up if that's what you're looking for. Again, no BTDT, maybe check to see if the front fenders interchange. If so, be sure you get all the brackets along with grille & lights.

HTH,

Andy

BTW, did you have a Milano?
