This may be a dumb question, but, I have a '94 850 GLT that I purchased recently. I just noticed a couple of small cracks in one of the front brake rotors/disc (haven't checked the others yet). One crack runs across a good portion of the rotor/disc; The other is smaller and just in the center. Should I be concerned about them? Will it cause the rotor to fail anytime soon?

It is imperative that you replace this as soon as possible.

Seems the majority wins!! I thought it would be necessary, but wanted to double-check anyway. Anybody from the UK know if they would check this on the MOT?

They should, if they dont. But in anycase, they'd know when brakes are applied. And your brake dust would be so much, you prolly might as well just paint your rims black.

In anycase, eventhough the front rotors are ventilated discs, meaning that they have areas in the middle for 'ventialtion', even a small deviation away form the minimum thickness would affect braking somewhat... What more cracking.

Cheers.
