Hey folks first post glad to be here......I have an '86 240 wagon. It always starts right up and holds a nice idle, when I put it in gear the idle almost always falters and most times stalls, sometimes it might stutter then the idle races a little and goes off on it's happy way. It's always after the car has been sitting. If it's warmed up it does not happen, maybe a slight stutter but does not stall........any ideas would be helpful..........thanks much

Fairly common. Could be dirty fuel injectors. A can of Techron in the tank might help. Could be dirty throttle body or air control valve. Remove and clean them up with spray cleaner. Careful not to spray on the throttle position sensor. When was the fuel filter changed?
