Hi all I have looked up to page 8 and could not find an answer so I hope you guys can help
I have a 95 850 w/o turbo
I rebuilt the engine from scratch as I got the 8 months ago with it in bits.
I have now got it running but on idle it seems to have its own mind fast the almost stop.

I am not sure if I have all the vacuum hoses in the right spot so if some one can tell me in basic English where they go I would be very happy or what I should look for

Thanks heaps in advance
Cheers
Phil

Hey Phil.

Sorry if this is late in reply, but i just got back from out of town.

Anyway, i assume you have the idling parts all worked up, like the IACV and the TB.

Any work done on the MAF? Like just the cleaning with a spray-type contact-cleaner? I have NEVER had to change my MAF yet to this day, since an Airbus Industrie chief mechanic taught me this, many, many years back. :haha: No kidding. And i think by now, almost everyone on the net knows about it too (may not have gotten it from this site, though, but who cares, right?)

The injectors are clean? Sometimes, when rebuilding, the injectors are left with the petrol residue in them, that dried out and stuff. So unless you sent them to be machine-cleaned, there is apossibility of clogging.

Hmmm... There are many other areas to consider, dude...

But please update, i am interested to see what actually went wrong.
:)

Why don't you disconnect the MAF and see if doing this affects the revs.

Just pull the socket out first and see.
