Hello everyone. I just committed to buy a Silver 2001 S60 2.4T with 146K miles on it. She is almost perfect inside and out. Clean carfax with 2 previous owners. I had a mechanic check the timing belt and he told me that it looks like it was changed around 120K miles. If I want I can back out of the deal with no problems. The questions I have start out with the fact that I have 0 experience with foreign cars. I have driven this car approx 30 miles and it drove great. I noticed that upon acceleration there is a jump in the power band early in the shift from 1st to 2nd. Is this the turbo ( I have never owned a turbo before either )? Before I sigh the papers what should I look for? Any problems that are normally typical for this year and model? It came with a bad keyfob ( tried a new battery and didnt work ( so I bought one with the same numbers thinking I could program it like I have numerous American vehicles. Not with this one. The manual says I need to take it to a dealer. Whats up with that? Anyhow anything you may could make me aware of or what I can look for please do. I appreciate it.

I would assume the T in 2.4T is for turbo.

The key fob has to be programed at a dealer for security.

Yes its a turbo. I have read somewhere that if you dont have the correct pin# you cannot get a new key fob programmed?
