Hi

I have a 05 model S60 D5, and I’m having problems with the driver’s window, when using the one touch close the windows closes and then reopens and returns to same place it open at, prior to pressing the switch to close.

However if I close the window whilst holding the switch up, the window will close and remain shut

Any ideas?

Regards, Bill

Sounds like its kinda lost its settings - Can only suggest trying to reset the UEM (just search UEM and something should come up)

edit ... copied this from one of S60-MBS posts

Close all of the doors and bonnet.
- Key in position II engine not running.
- Hold both the driver window and passenger window switches in the driver door panel in the closed or up position for 5 to 8 seconds after the windows are closed.
- Release buttons.
- Remove the ignition key.
- Operated the remote twice. lock/unlock lock/unlock.

I doubt it would be the actual swich - Are you sure it's returning to the exact position it was in at the time of pressing the button. I think there is a safety on these windows and if it detects something as it closes it will drop down again.
So could there be a fault with the safety feature?

Other than that I would suspect the UEM as I believe thats what holds the settings and controls the windows.

The only other thing that might be worth a try is to disconnect the battery for a few hours to see if that 'resets' things when reconnected.

Thanks for the advice, but I had to take the car to the dealer today, they conclued after doing several UEM resets that the software had to be re-laoded, this seems to have solved the problem.

Pass on the software issue but before I brought the car the dealer had a little dent taken out of the drivers door, so perhaps it happened then, but after having little faith in the supplying dealer (due to other issues), I went to the other delaership in my area to solve the problems, who turned out to be very good, and in fact noticed by rear park assist problem (every few starts it pops up saying "park assist service required") the dealer again reloaded the software and this has seemed to fixed that fault as well for now :57: , (if not then they reckon that a sensor might be faulty) but the suppling delaer could not find a fault with the park assist

All in all £35 to fix the problem(s) and a 15% discount just or going there??? they also offered 15% discount on labour and 10% off parts if I keep going back to them

That's quite a result - I'm still looking for a dealer that I can trust not to rip me off.
Hants isn't that far away - what dealer was it?

Kings Volvo in Southampton, but they have a few other branches that may offer the same discounts, I know that Winchester site is also good (got my XC90 from them)
