Hi..
Apart from the following, my car is driving perfectly. It's a 1994 850 GLE 2.5/20v (UK model) with only 59k genuine miles on the clock.
Problem: ABS light comes on after around five minutes driving and stays on. My 'Service Light' flashes constantly.
The 850 has a self-diagnostic tester and checking the ABS codes (via socket 3 on test block A) there appeared to be a problem with front left/right wheel sensors.
My mechanic (not Volvo, but highly competent and reliable) checked the ABS system and found it functioning perfectly.
Service Light: a full service was done a couple of months ago and the service light was reset via the self-diagnostic tester (socket A7: procedure = 4-1-5-1 sequence of pressing button etc)
It's only this past week or so that both problems have arisen.
Can anyone offer any advice/solutions?

CLASSIC case on the ABS.

If you run a search in this forums, there has been a few instances or posts where we've run the issue down already.

Basically, your ABS sensors at the wheels are dirty. There are four, one in each wheel. Do all at once. Its quite easy and quite straightforward. You just need socket 10 with an extension to finish this job. I've washed (yes, and in some cases, SOAKED for a minute of 2) the sensor; in petrol, water, carbon cleaner, dish-washing liquid and even degreasers, and they always worked fine all the while.
:)

Remove the wheel, reach out to the back of the brake disc. Find the sensor (Hint: It's the only thing there that is wired...) Fit a socket 10 in, and unscrew it.


Try it. Go crazy.
