I have a 2004 S80 2.5T, 84,000 Miles
Since 6/2008 i have been expirencing my car shutting down while on the highway.
The car while driving will buckle, dash will start flashing on/off gauges will go wild, will have to re-start car and see SRS Air Bag, check engine, brake failure...
Have been to the Volvo dealer in NJ (Kundert) and they have to reset computer, was charged $135.00 and car was fine for 2 weeks. On 8/26/2008 same problem again on the highway car buckled and everything went crazy then shut down, Volvo stated they would have to removed windshield, windshield wipers assembly and check wire harness, found bent terminal pin, fixed pin and was charged $254.00... On 8/31/08 experienced same problem again and was told they would reset computer and to change steering wheel module. Took car today to Volvo (Kundert) to change steering wheel module which I was charged $392.00 and still having same problem... I am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue's as me... Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I am not a Volvo Expert but I suggest you let someone look at the whole Computer module. It appears the computer has an intermittent fault.

Regards

contact volvo north america. three times to fix same problem, not acceptable. then get the better business bureau, maybe that'll light a fire under the dealerships butt to get it fixed. man i hate dealers. good luck
