Having thought long and hard about my next car (current car is a seat ibiza 130bhp tdi and previous car was a 3 series BMW) I have more or less decided on a v50. The room seems big enough for an average size dog, golf clubs plus I am building a kit car to hill climb. I would quite like a 2.0d SE Euro 4 and due to price will prob be a 05 or 06 plate with no more than 30k on it. What are the common faults and issues I should look out for?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

door connectors cause problems with central locking and windows and outside temp gauge on 06 model year, volvo will rectify for free as policy for them. Egr valves can cause poor running/cutting out but again volvo will sort if car under 4 years old.
Seen the odd ABS unit fail but very rare. Only reason I mention it is that it would be an expensive repair out of waranty.
It is actually a very reliable car and dont think you will have any major issues.

Cheers for the reply. It will be like my BMW, things dont often go wrong but when they do :( £! Volvos cover miles and much punishment as traffic cars and still go strong so the must be good  .
