Hi folks, newbie here. :)
I've just purchased a very tidy 460CD. The only problem I've noticed was yesterday, after a drive of about 1 hour, the dimmer switch (for the dashboard instrument lights) on the steering column was so hot to touch that it burnt!. The "info" display is very dim (which is why I was playing with the dimmer switch). And the whole display dims when I switch on the heater fans.

1. Are the two facts connected?

2. The heating is obviously due to some sort of electrical impedance (there my knowledge ends!). How does one get at the switch to check it out (or what should I be checking?)

3. Any other advice welcome!
