Drives: 2001 Volvo XC70
Hi all...this will be our first real winter with the XC70, and, while our part of New Jersey is not known for terrible snows, I am wondering about the wisdom of additional snow chains to the current set of all-weather rubber on the car. Any advice on 'not even bothering' vs a set of two (on which axle?) vs a set of four?

Do not bother. Chains are a pain to put on, noisy, rough, and can damage your car if loose. Besides which, the XC70 will go just fine without them if you drive carefully.
