As I visited my dealer / shop, they informed me of a new initiative from Volvo, they have found that the cooler fans on at least the 2001 2.4T models may be faulty and is called all the vehicles affected in for fan replacement. He could not tell me details on what the problems were. This will be done for free of course! I do not know which other V70 mmodels may be affected. Check with your dealer if you do not hear anything or is not registered in their system as the owner.

The Fans are being recalled because the resistors fail.When they fail it will keep the fan running all the time or not turn the fan on at all.

I beleive the recall covers The S80,S60 and V70 from Model year 99-2002.
Anyone can contact their local dealer with thier Vin# and see if the recall needs to be done.
