mine popped off with a lot of long hard pulling straight up. watch out though eh, or you will pop yourself in the chops like i did. :blush: you can push the shift lock override to get a better angle, be sure your parking brake is on.
squeeze the 'trigger' in and just work it up, straight up. i couldn't get it to budge one day and then the next day after the car sat in the sun and it was probably 100deg in the car i could get it to move and it came off. my shifter was all funky and the rubber was deteriorating, so i picked one up from a salvage lot. good luck! |

i dunno about the manual gearbox. i have the auto gearbox. most manual shift knobs have a small 'locknut' under the knob that requires a screwy spanner wrench with a side tab/tooth. try to look up under the knob covering, there is likely a clue there. some of the other manual tranny folks will likely type in soon.

Ours has a screw at the base of the knob you take that off then remove a few hex bolts that are very small I think 2.5mm then you have to pull it off and it takes quite some might. I could hardly get it off.
