Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum, I've searched this forum for solutions for a problem I've encountered the last couple of weeks.

The thing is: when depressing the clutch in first gear, the ?clutch? makes a rapsing noise. This noise doesn't apear when depressing the clutch in neutral. I can hear the sound just before the clutch engages.

I've read about similar problems on a V40 topic (V40 topic). The solutions in that topic didn't solve my problems.

Hope any of you know a solution!

Oh for the record, ive got a 1993 Volvo 245 (Polar). With the B200F engine

Thanks in advance,
Michiel

Does this happen if you try to move off in 2nd gear? Is it a M47 (5 speed, no overdrive)? How is the transmission fluid and when was it last changed?
The two obvious clutch parts that could be on the way out are the pilot bearing and the release bearing. Both are cheap but the transmission will have to be dropped to replace these.

Maybe this topic helps: (in dutch)

Check

I've got exactly the same problem as you have (for more than a year now), and I'm gonna have my disc, preasure plate and bearings renewed within a couple of weeks.
Keep you updated about the result.
