I need to remove the serpentine belt. On the tensioner, is that hole a standard 3/4 drive, or is it for some special tool?

For future reference, in case anybody is doing a search some time down the road, I got my 3/4" drive back from the person who borrowed it an found that it is the proper size for the tensioner.

Why THANK YOU, Rosso... for asking, and err, answering your own posting.
:)

Cheers.

I figured it was 3/4", but I had loaned my 3/4 drive to someone so I couldn't be sure. Until I had the chance to check, I wanted to see if maybe it required a special tool so I could start looking for one. I'll try not to do it again

Are we talking about a large 3/4" drive ratchet? The space (in mine, anyway) is very limited.

I sawed off the top inch and a half or so of a 17mm bolt, ground down a pair of opposite corners, clamped it in a vice grip, and put the head of it into the tensioner. It worked, but was utterly lacking in elegance.

DIYers: note that, with the right tool, you can do this job in literally 2 minutes.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. And an A+ for you on the brilliant bolt idea.
