OK-
The R is stashed in a parking garage, the 245 is packed with all my gear, and the Bride is out of the state with my son.

Now I get to wait for all hell to break loose.

Sometimes I hate being the police....

"send lawyers, guns , and money" someone once said...

Just a note to everyone out there, that I have enjoyed my time on the board, and hope to talk to you all soon!!!

(or as soon as the internets come back)

I just heard about this from the news on satellite, last night.

Be careful, guys.
:)

A friend commented, "Being named similar to the founder, do you think the Gustav will actually toss the Volvos around?"

Well New Orleans dodged a bullet with Gustav, and now I'm waiting for news on my Mother's house in Port Arthur TX (she's in Dallas).

I spent nine days at work.

That's nine days sleeping at work.

It stunk.

However, our lovely employers decided to pay us 24 hours a day for the entire incident.

I smell some new ECU software and a downpipe. (translate to: pay damn bills instead)

However, doing 110mph through a nearly abandoned city was a unique experience, as was patrolling neighborhoods so dark at night, you could develop film outside.

So, hows IKE thus far?

We have a fair share of rain and thunderstorms here too. Trees uprooted, some of the Ramadhan stalls totally washed-out due to flimsy groundwork, etc.

They even trimmed the trees along the main street at my residence (that have always provided the shade for the pedestrians and joggers) so that it wont cause any major problems, if the branches fell off. But somehow, we feel 'naked' after that. Hmmm...

My mother returns home tomorrow to survey her property in Port Arthur.

I'm planning to head to Texas on Wed. to help her with any damage.

everyone I know out there evacuated as a group, and is safe. Something for which I am truly thankful.

Bear- Sorry your holiday is/was a washout. The trees will grow back, they're good at it!

You're right. I'm being insensitive. Its much worse on your side.
Well, hope life casualties are down to a zero (if not absolutely to a minimum) this time.

No no- I didn't mean to be sarcastic!!! Texas is a mess, but everyone around me is safe.

(and I am VERY thankful for that)

I lost a ton of branches near my house, and was thinking to myself that most of my damage would heal itself in time.

hence, my comment about trees being good at growing back!

Please don't think I was being rude!

(I save that for other forums) <_<
