Hi everyone..!

A little query here.

A week ago I slithered around the junkyard and found a set of 5 alloy rims.

The 'yard owner assured me it's for the 740. I check with some older 740 owner and they confirmed it.

A few web-pages later, I found out that its a design called "Dersus" which is a 14 incher.

I was wondering if it could fit a 1990 740 which I own that came with 15 inch steel rims. The junker wouldn't let me try it on though..

My 740 is without ABS as with my other 940.

Comments..?

I am not familiar with the 740s, but you may want to check the PCD and compare. If they match, then you can spot them on without any mods.

Came back from the junk yard.

Got a confirmation from a Volvo chap there (he's looking for spares too).

Nope, the wheels don't fit because of the brake calipers.

Oh well, back to rummaging the 'yards..

yes, brake clearance is an issue with a smaller wheel as also speed calibration. go with the same size or go slightly bigger. note also that if you have a 15 and you find a 15+ in another european car, you can get bolt adapters to make them fit. example, set of 18 inch bmw bbs wheels look great on a volvo via adapters. im looking for some 911 turbo rims now!
bottom line..... you cant go smaller.

:offtopic:

I'm going a bit off-topic here (just a bit).

The 2000AD comic is British and the most popular character was Judge Dredd (Sly played him in the movie).

There was once a series on plankers (skysurfers) that had races all over the "Nu World" and one race ended up in OZ (Australia, I presume)

I'm a great fan of this comic until the flow stopped after my college days. Probably too violent & twisted for the Malaysian Govt.! :P

There's a web on this : www.2000ad.org

Have fun..!

BTW, I've noticed that Rambo's knife grows bigger and longer with each movie

Dredd's cool. But i kinda like the comic version MORE than the movie.

And when push comes to shove, we need to let go of Sly.

Well looky here..!

We's back on the same track, fancy that..! Mask, Transformers, Dreadd and all...!

And here we are, Volvos and all...

Yup, the megazine Dreadd was the ultimate Judge, Jury & Executioner...the letdown part was that he had to remove his helmet...aarrrggghhh.....!

Some of my friends said that he looked like he's wearing a bra instead of the NFL like shoulder pads...

I wonder how he'd look like in a low rider souped up 850 turbo with twin chain cannons lawmaster....?

I liked him MORE when i knew how he looked like, actually. I mean, for someone to be LIKE HIM, he doesnt need to be handsome.
:P
