Hi Everyone,

Is it possible to remove the large bumpers from a 1982 245DL and replace them with the slimmer-looking bumpers from the 1984-1985 240s?

Thanks!
Daniel

The bush mechanics say: "Anything " is possible, with a big enough hammer. It depends just how much work is involved as to whether you'd want to, and since vehicle collision collapse rates are involved, you might compromise occupant safety somewhat. Considering it's Volvos we're discussing, that could be significant one day. "At you're own risk" comes to mind, as do vehicle roadworthiness inspections and insurance/litigations in event of an accident. It's not as simple as it sounds, unless you ignore the risks involved. There are, unfortunately, people out there who'll deliberately crash into a V just to claim on our insurance for their rusty wrecks' repairs/replacement. Motor vehicle accidents are largely unprediictable as to their dynamics and the outcomes can only be approximated prior to, and known exactly post, the event. The approximations are usually different from the reality IMO. Sometimes radically different IME.
