Last week I purchased a 2002 Volvo S60 with a 107, 000 miles. Service record show the car was well maintained. However, my radio, odometer, and clock backlight is not working. I also notice that some time my Odometer does not work. when the lights are turned on the speedometer and other gauges a lit but the digital odometer and clock is not working. sometime the odometer and clock will light up but the the back light never work. other than that the radio work fine.

it'll either be a fuse or you need to change the bulbs. there was a post similar to yours. do a search on the s60 forum to find the thread

I had the same thing and it was the lighting control panel. quite a few floating on Ebay atm, worth taking it out and having a look inside, does it smell of burning or look black inside on the potentiometers (one for beam adjustment, one for illumination intensity?)

here's one so u know what im talking about ;) lighting control panel

Thanks for the advices. I also notice that my high beam dimmer switch don't work when the radio and instrument lights are out. Is this a problem that is associated with the Headlight control panel?

Yeah, It's the exact same problem I had by the sounds of it, You will just need a new control panel which you can get off ebay and that should be it sorted :)

Thanks, I found a used headlight switch on ebay. it should be here in a couple days but can you tell me how to remove and replace the Headlight Switch? I looked at the one on my car and appears that you just prior the old switch out with a flat object. But really need advice cause I don't want to brake something
