hello,

i have been looking for a nice v70 for awhile now and ive stumbled across one thats pretty close to me. the dealer is about 30 mins from my house. could you guys take a look at the ad and tell me what to look for and if its a good deal or not? also the dealer says that the drive shaft is missing!? is this a big deal? how hard are they to come by? should i be worried about the high miles? how is the reliability of these cars? sorry about all the questions but i want to get as much info on this car as i can.

here is the link:

run away. fast. for it to have vibrations means there is something a little more wrong than just a failure. it's words like that that can scare a person, or make one buy a seemingly easy fix and sour a person on that make of car. keep looking. always do a carfax on them, that way you can see when the maintenance was done and if any recalls were taken care of. good luck. hey, a new point for you, if he'll drop the price a thou, get it. just my two cents.

Like you said, it's close by so take a close look. Before you go, call your personal mechanic or the local Volvo shop for plausible reasons why the drive shaft would have been removed. The term "appears to have been dealer serviced" is not that convincing unless documentation is provided. If you want the R model then this may be a viable candidate, just don't make a hasty decision. Good Luck.

is there a huge difference between the r and a normal model? i really like the interior on this one but it would not be something i would really worry about.

ride is more tight on the R, and the power is addictive. the interior is more on the sportier side with the R. if you are in the market for an R, i would just keep looking. mkc brings up a good point. have you carfaxed this ride yet? i'd get that done. it might be a flood car or a repo that has been re-tagged, or a hit and fix scam, you never know unless you run the numbers. good luck.

Visual differences I believe are only the bumpers. Minor changes, emphasis on more performance. Leather and suede interior combo. Not huge, but noticeable differences.
