Any ideas on this?

I have a 2000 V70, which runs great. My only problem (beyond the various dash lights that have burned out) is that my AM radio reception is poor. Anything beyond 30 miles or so is completely static-y, and when I turn on anything electrical (like the windshield wipers) I get a huge interference buzz.

I checked the connections in the back of the radio, and everything is plugged in tight. I haven't gone beyond that.

Any ideas?

AM radio? :haha: get sirrus or sat radio, the Am is an analog transmission thats dieing rapidly. Your radio will recieve interferences along with the electrical buzz. check the connecting area of your mast. have your charging system checked, and check your main chassis ground near the battery. :thumbsup:

AM Radio = baseball games (and most college football). Also, I drive an 8 year old car, and don't want to buy a new one, so $12 per month for radio is a bit rich for my blood.

Does anyone know where the "mast" for the 2000 V70 connects? It doesn't have an external antenna that goes up and down.
