Hi all,

I have a 1997 S40 T4 and when I pull my foot off the accelerator to change gears the engine revs take a few seconds before they start to decrease ie if I push the clutch in at the same time as I remove my foot from the accelerator the engine revs up instead of down. I tried oiling the cable which had little, if any, effect and the problem seems to be worse when the engine is hot. Can anyone advise how I may be able to rectify the problem?
Regards, johng

Hey,
I actually have the same problem with my 850 T5, when shifting. When I try to shift, the RPM goes up about +400. It falls back once in gear, still kind of strange.
Any luck so far in finding the solution? I'd love to hear something relaxing..
Thanx,
L
