OK- My Head Unit is possessed by evil spirits, and the volume /power knob is close to death.

Do I bother to have it repaired?

Do I just eBay another one?

What are my options here?

Vague on what is wrong with Head Unit. If the knob is just acting up, take it apart and clean the contacts, eg. the volume goes down when you are turning it up. Ebaying a radio is cheap, just get the theft code to make things easy.

OK- the volume is intermittent turning up, and down. The power (same as the volume) also works only sometimes. I've taken to just leaving it on, and turning it down with the steering wheel controls.

it also seems to go into a programming mode when I try to turn it off.

I didn't think there were many user-serviceable aspects to a head unit.
