I've noticed clunking noise from the engine when you stop and go, checked the upper engine mount and it's bad (cracked).
Called the dealer the part is 110$ Cad and 1.1 hour labor at 135$ per hour which ends around 280 dollars for this repair. I would like to replace it myself.
Anyone please advise on how to replace and which mount to install the original from dealer or IPDUSA mount. Any help welcome
Thank you.

You will need to remove all the turbo piping on the top of the engine. Then remove the strut tower brace looking thing. Then the spark plug cover to gain access to the bolts holding the upper mount to the motor.
Unless you just do the bushing. Then you can cut the old bushing out them slide the new one in. If the IPD one is urethane then you might get alot of vibration out of it.
I like the OEM ones although they break alot.

Thanks.
I'd go with the OEM cause I prefer smoother ride.
Now I get it. The whole mount costs 110$ and I thought only the rubber thing (bushing) is 110. I'll keep you posted as soon as I get it done.

Here is an update.
Bought the upper encourage from the Volvo dealer in Winnipeg, cost me 110$ Cad + Tax. And installed it myself. Very easy. But had trouble with the torx nut that holds the transmision dip stick. The nut screwed inside when I tried to unscrew with a proper size torx bit. So I just broke the hole bracket.
But... the engine freeplay had not disappeared, it only got less noticable. I plan to look at the bottom torque bushing according to what I have seen in Vadis. Any thoughts??
Any way pretty happy I did it myself and did not pay 150$ to the dealer.
Pictures provided.

Dude, why'd you pay $110 when I showed you where to get it for $36?

"Look here. $36: Engine Mount"

You can get the lower torque mount here. These also fail quite frequently. Lower Torque Mount

No it's not hard at all. You just need wrenches. Good luck.

Sorry for late reply. Checked the lower engine mount and it's fine.
Any one any thoughts!!! I still have noticible freeplay in the steering wheel when I stop and go at a stop sign or red signal light I feel "click". It so annoying I wanna fix this problem. I have replaced the upper mount and checked the lower, any other things I should look for. I don't wanna go to the dealer that fast.
